Jonathan Rosado's Brutalist Couture

Adam Lehrer in conversation with Jonathan Rosado during the NYC Film Premiere of Brutalist Couture.

Uncensored New York invited Adam Lehrer from Safety Propaganda to lead a conversation with Director Jonathan Rosado and cast members Roman D’Ambrosio and Salome at Anthology Film Archives for the U.S Premiere of Brutalist Couture. Lehrer describes the film as a mix of 80s Zedd + Kern films with murder scenes reminiscent of Viennese Actionism rituals.

We’ve became increasingly interested in the distribution of Super 8mm feature length films because it’s rare to see this format in commercial theaters. Brutalist Couture has private snuff film undertones and a soundtrack reminiscent of 60s counter-culture filled with psychedelic mind control and deranged acid washed groupies. Rosado was inspired by the 1970’s film Spaces in the Place by Sun-Ra and the classified CIA program MKUltra.

The film has sold out opening weekend in New York City at Anthology Film Archive and Film Noir and in Pittsburgh at Bottom Feeder Books. Additional screenings happening in Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin and New Jersey.
